Brick Township, NJ, Firefighter OK After Gear Burns

The firefighter was using a saw to gain access to the garage when a spark met gas fumes.

A firefighter's gear caught fire as he was attempting to gain access to a garage fire in Brick Township.

A spark from a saw was ignited by fumes and caught the turnout gear ablaze, Jersey Shore Fire Response reported. 

Firefighters quickly extinguished the burning gear preventing any injuries.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by Brick Township Fire Bureau.
